LADY GAGA & THE ROLE RELIGION PLAYS IN HER MUSIC

In Lady Gaga's music, religion often appears as a symbolic reference or metaphor. As a long-time fan of hers, I have always noticed that religion is a recurring theme in many of her songs, albums, performances and tours, and other forms of art. I know that Lady Gaga was raised as a Roman Catholic and attended an all-girls Roman Catholic private school, and I believe her religious upbringing influenced the way she creates art now. I decided to choose religion and it's influence on Lady Gaga's music as my topic to further explore the presence of religion in the music industry. In using this topic, I have formed an argument that the religious beliefs an artist portrays in the media are the same religious beliefs they practice in their own life.
